Harvey graduated from Leeds University with a degree in Economics in 1994 and not yet ready for the world of work took the opportunity to study for a Masters degree in Business Strategy & Environmental Management at Bradford University. As part of this degree he undertook a research project for Ellis & Everard (now Univar) a chemical distribution company, and joined them after completing his Masters as a Logistics Analyst in 1995.
After a couple of years working at the Bradford head office for the Logistics Director, Harvey took the opportunity to run a small warehousing and transport operation in central Scotland providing high grade electronic chemicals to the semi-conductor fabrication sector. In 1998 he joined Paul Smith at McGregor Cory as a Business Development Manager. This role involved project management and new contract implementation assignments as well as working on new business development.
In late 2000 Harvey joined Logistech, a technical logistics consultancy specialising in transport and supply chain modelling, prior to joining up with Paul again as a partner in the newly formed Labyrinth in 2001. This lead to a wide variety of consultancy projects and most significantly the creation Jigsaw Solutions Limited where he held the position of Operations Director.
Harvey has significant experience in commercial negotiations which have delivered real financial savings for the businesses he has been involved with. His analytical and modelling skills combined with hands-on operational management experience have proven valuable to a number of clients, particularly in the areas of operational process review and due diligence assignments. In addition he has also lead many logistics contract implementations and change projects, and is a highly effective project manager.
