Driver CPC Training - the facts and figures

Working within the JAUPT framework (Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training) we provide training for lorry drivers as part of the Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) Periodic Training regime. All training meets the requirements of the JAUPT syllabus and is designed to result in a 7 hour upload to the driver’s licence. LGV (Large Goods Vehicle) Drivers must complete 5 modules (35 hours) over a 5 year period.

We can provide the following five courses:

  • Occupational Road Risk and Fuel Efficient Driving
  • Drivers’ Hours, WTD and Walk-Round checks
  • Practical Safety for LGV Drivers
  • Safe Loading and Unloading
  • Customer Service

Our trainers are all experienced in both the knowledge areas and are also seasoned trainers in this sector, adept at working with drivers. We can carry out training at client premises or provide a venue if required.

Once licences have been checked and the 7 hours has been attended in full, driver licences will be updated with the module credit. We also produce a certificate of attendance.

LGV drivers must undertake this training in order to continue to work commercially. Companies are encouraged to organise the training for their drivers to ensure continuity of service and help to reduce the current driver shortage.
